A Message from the President

The Georgia Psychological Association represents one of the largest state constituencies of organized psychologists in the United States. Our association has a strong foundational group of practicing psychologists and academically oriented professionals working in settings such as independent/private practice, not-for-profit and governmental organizations and colleges and universities throughout Georgia.

This is an exciting time for GPA as we are directing our efforts to the practice of psychology and the training of psychologists in the 21st century. We have rich opportunities for students and early career professionals and encourage mentorship and collaboration between members. As a professional association, we are using multimedia options to conduct the business of GPA, enhance member benefits and train psychologists in the use of media in their practices and in the training of tomorrow’s professionals. Finally, we are increasing our collaborations both within our state and with other state organizations and institutions to provide high quality opportunities for collaboration, learning and practice enhancement.

We welcome all psychologists and members of the greater community to peruse our enhanced website and learn about the many ways that GPA is meeting the needs of psychology today with an eye on our many tomorrows.

Jennifer Stapel-Wax, Psy.D.
President
